Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday dedicated the greenfield airport and a solar park to the nation at Orvakallu in Kurnool district
Kurnool: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday dedicated the greenfield airport and a solar park to the nation at Orvakallu in Kurnool district. The chief minister said that air services would be introduced from the greenfield airport to Amaravati, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru soon. In all probability, the flights would take off from this summer, he said.
Addressing entrepreneurs at the airport, Naidu said that Kurnool district in the Rayalaseema region would soon emerge as a major industrial hub. He said even the Kia cars, which is being manufactured in this region, would be rolling out soon.
This, the Chief Minister said, indicates the commitment of the government to develop the region. After inaugurating the two projects, he said despite non-cooperation from the Centre and hurdles created by main opposition, the state has been making all-out efforts to see that it progresses at a faster pace.
Naidu said the foundation for the airport was laid just 18 months back and the terminal and runway have been completed in record time. The trial run that was conducted recently, he said, was successful. Once the flights take off from this airport this summer, Kurnool would be linked with Amaravati, Hyderabad, Benguluru and Chennai.
This will further help in bringing in greater investment to the district and the region. Similarly, the mega solar park with 1000 MW capacity would be the third largest solar park in the world, he said. Later, participating in the Janmabhoomi programme at Kosgi in the district, Naidu announced that the High Court Bench would be set up at Kurnool.
He said while he was striving day and night to develop the state in spite of the non-cooperation from the Centre, Opposition leader Jagan Mohan Reddy was levelling baseless charges against him. "I am accused of perpetrating corruption to the extent of Rs 6 lakh crore. Even our state budget is not that much," he remarked.
Jagan is afraid of the Prime Minister, as he is facing ten cases of corruption and quid pro quo. That is why he dancing to the tunes of Modi. “That is the reason why Jagan was afraid of questioning the Prime Minister on the injustice done to the state," he added.
The Chief Minister also laid foundation stones for state cancer institute on the premises of Kurnool government general hospital and pharma cluster. He also laid foundation stone for MSME parks at Brahmanapalli in Panyam mandal, Tangadancha of Jupadu Bungalow mandal at Banaganapalle.
