Tirupati: Tirupati Municipal Corporation aims to finalize the tender details for the major development works proposed under smart city project soon. Details like nature of work, estimated cost, period of completion of the work etc will be finalised before January first week said Municipal Corporation Commissioner V Vijay Rama Raju.
Speaking to media here on Wednesday, Vijaya Rama Raju said the smart city major projects include multi-layer parking facility proposed near railway station, elevated corridor to pave way for the vehicles coming from outside to Tirumala proceeding directly without any hindrance, deployment of heavy machinery for mechanized sweeping covering 120 km long roads, state of the art central command and control system to streamline traffic management, strengthening the surveillance to check crimes in the city and cycle sharing a navel concept aimed to prevent growing pollution.
The Commissioner said that with the tendering of the major projects the smarty city project will reach the crucial stage. The officials, in consultation with experts, are making efforts to see all the other development proposals under the smart city projects are tendered in the first week January.
Rama Raju explained the special drive launched by the corporation to end the menace of public urination in the city. Stern action will be taken against those if the toilets, 51 in city, are not maintained properly, he warned.
Based on feedback, the corporation will ensure cleaning of the toilets thrice daily and put up sign boards indicating the distance and location of the toilets to promote the public use of the toilets for urination. Corporation will acquire one more heavy machine for mechanised sweeping covering 120 km long road, he stated
