Farmers fear worst

Pithapuram: Farmers in Tatiparthi village in Gollaprolu mandal feared worst following the formation of dark clouds on Tuesday, soon after suffering the ill-effects of cyclone Phethai. The havoc which lasted for two days resulted in loss of commercial crops.

They suffered loss of paddy, cotton, onion, vegatables and chilly. The standing crops were inundated. The farmers who heaved a sigh of relief after the dark clouds cleared in the early hours, panicked after the sky turned once again turned dark in the evening.
