Visakhapatnam: HRD Minister Ganata Srinivasa Rao inspected coastal areas at Bheemili and Mangamaripeta and interacted with fishermen community regarding the arrangements made at cyclone shelters and alerted them about Phethai here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister appealed to fishermen not to venture into sea until the officials announce normalcy in the weather. Meanwhile the district officials made all arrangements at cyclone shelters including food, water, medicines, vegetables and other amenities to evacuees.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had alerted all the district officials regarding the cyclone by using the latest technology Real Time Governance System(RTGS). With the help of RTGS, the disasters like Phethai can be identified time to time and alert the local authorities and officials in reducing both human and property loss within a period.
After learning lessons from the devastation wrought by cyclone Hudhud, now the State government had took many preventive measures in reducing the human and property loss.He also said that Chief Minister has been given instructions over tele-conference and conducting minute to minute follow up regarding the arrangements done for Phethai.
He also said that both the NDRF and Army were ready to participate in the rescue and rehabilitation works in cyclone affected areas to bring back normalcy in those areas. Taking weathermen report into consideration, the State government had announced holidays to educational institutions.
