Visakhapatnam: The Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation (GVMC) has made elaborate arrangements for removing debris flew due to gusty winds in the city. Around 2 pm, all the sanitary workers were deployed to bring back the city roads clean and debris free.

Even on Sunday night also, 72 ward officials were deployed by their town planning officials at cyclone affected areas in the city to take preventive measures. The GVMC officials had spread communication through auto rickshaws by canvassing in mike sets that not to come on the roads till cyclone subsides.

Even rural police also took part in alerting and controlling the traffic along with city traffic police on National Highways by urging the commuters to return to their homes as the gusty winds could cause inconvenience and led to traffic jams. The revenue officials had visited all cyclone affected areas along with the district officials and took part in the rehabilitation programmes.

As per the orders of Coastal Security DIG Satthar Khan, marine police had deployed their patrolling teams from Jodugullapalem to Bheemili on the coastal line. The marine police had alerted the fishermen community and urged them not to venture into the sea. The city traffic police also arranged barricades on the beach road and diverted the traffic in another direction on the coastal bay.
