Vijayawada: More than 3,000 people participated in ‘Amaravati City Run-2018' which was flagged off at Amaravathi to showcase the developments happening in the capital city region. The event was jointly organised by APCRDA and Amaravati Run on Sunday.
The 10k run was flagged off by MLA T Shravan Kumar, 21.5 k run was flagged off by the CRDA commissioner Dr Ch Sridhar.
Speaking to the lens men on the occasion, Dr Ch Sridhar said for the first time Amaravati Marathon was organised.
He said that about 25,000 farmers have given their lands for the capital construction at Amaravati and are partnered in the prestigious project.
He said that CRDA would organise these kind of programmes every Sunday at Amaravati and congratulated the participants of Half Marathon and the farmers who participated in the run.
He said that Amaravati Marathon is the main event in history of the upcoming capital city.
The construction of capital was going on at a brisk pace, and the people are witnessing the development works at Amaravati, said the commissioner.
He expressed happiness for the youth, students and others for being a part of Amaravati construction.
He said that every week Citizen Engagement and Youth Engagement programmes would be organised. The winners were given prizes.
