Discharge duties before asking rights

Tirupati: The Vice-Chancellor of Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha (RSVP) Prof V Muralidhara Sharma has said that employees should discharge their work with responsibility before asking for their rights.

“There will be a conflict between rights and responsibility,” he stated. Delivering his inaugural address at one-day national seminar organised on Monday by NSS wing of RSVP on “Human rights in Sanskrit literature-Role of youth in managing with them” on the occasion of World Human Rights Day, he observed, “Our Sanskrit literature always speak about every creature in this universe has freedom to live on its own way”.

The chief guest and senior advocate Madabushi Dorai Raj has stated that human rights are not created by any legislature. Human rights were inherent in human beings, no one can deprive of it. The United Nations Organisation in 1945 in its charter of preamble article 1.3 and article 55 has clearly dealt with this such as recognition of justice, peace and dignity, universal common standards, universal brotherhood and right to nationality.

Several countries adopted this and came up with ‘International Court of Justice’ which India has adopted along with constitution in 1950. The texts and scriptures written in Sanskrit show abundant things on human rights and hence Sanskrit was not a dead language. The objectives of the seminar were highlighted by Programme Officer of NSS and Coordinator of the seminar Dr R Chandrasekhar.

Dr OG Kalyan Sastry has welcomed the gathering while Prof Satyanarayana Acharya has proposed a vote of thanks. It was attended by the Registrar of Vidyapeetha Prof GSR Krishna Murthy, scholars from Karnataka and Kerala like Dr Ganesh Pandit, Dr Venkataramana Bhat, Dr Vidyadhar, Dr Venugopala Rao and students of the Vidyapeetha.
