Rally held to mark Home Guards Formation Day
A rally was organised by Home Guards and the police in the streets of the city to mark 56th Home Guards Formation Day on Thursday
Eluru: A rally was organised by Home Guards and the police in the streets of the city to mark 56th Home Guards Formation Day on Thursday.
At a gathering of home guards from across the district at Police Parade Grounds, Eluru Range DIG T Ravi Kumar Murthy inspected guard of honour. The DIG along with District Superintendent of Police M Ravi Prakash congratulated the home guards on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the DIG called upon the home guards to exhibit the duty of service to society to continue the tradition. He reminded the services of the home guards in maintaining law and order.
He sought the help of the home guards in future also to maintain peace and order in society.
The home guards who took part in several sports competitions were given prizes on the occasion.
Earlier, in the rally organised in the city police officials and policemen took part.
