Vijayawada: To mark World AIDS Day, a free health camp was jointly organised by Vasavya Mahila Mandali, Sky Health Foundation and Apollo Tyres Health Care Centre here on Thursday.
IYLA chairman S Durgaprasad was the chief guest at the health camp inauguration.
Speaking on the occasion, he appreciated the social service activities of VMM and Apollo Health Care Centre and for organising health camp for the workers of Autonagar.
He recalled that the health card issued with Rs 15 was helpful to the Autonagar workers. He appealed to all the workers not to neglect their health issues when they fall sick.
He suggested to provide diabetic and hypertension medicines along with other medicines to the patients.
Dr B Narayana Swamy recalled that the theme of World Health Organisation for the year 2018 was ‘Know your HIV Status’ and everyone should get tested to know the HIV status.
About 92 workers (lorry drivers, cleaners and other workers) visited the health camp and tests were conducted and medicines were given free.
