Visakhapatnam: With the continuous efforts since its inception in promoting and accelerating start-up companies, Andhra Pradesh Innovation Society (APIS) has achieved a global recognition by bagging a chance to participate 10 start-up companies in SLUSH-2018 to be held in Helsinki in Finland from December 4 and 5. SLUSH, is the Annual Flagship Tech Congregation of Finland, which attracts thousands of innovators, enterprises, venture capitalists, policymakers and journalists from across the world to a ‘Fair of Futuristic Industry’ every year.
This platform offers each participant an unparalleled opportunity to forge relationship with all the key stakeholders of the global start-up and innovation ecosystem. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, APIS Chief Executive Officer R S Winny Patro said the Society leading the delegation of top Indian Start-Ups to present in the SLUSH.
As a supporting partner to the conference, the embassy of India in Helsinki in association with the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) is setting up a ‘Start-Up Pavilion, in which 30 Indian start-ups would be facilitated, the CEO said.
The APIS introduced an opportunity to enable participation of eligible start-ups of Andhra Pradesh and those have been part of various initiatives run by the Society in the conference by sponsoring the travel expenditure and accommodation during the conference. Out of total 30 start-ups participating from India in SLUSH, 10 are from the APIS, Winny Patro said. This one-third of the total participating start-up is a national record, he said with a pride.
“The sheer scale, aura and composition of the event set up a magnificent tone for start-ups from APIS to create a global impact. As a platform, the event will feature APIS start-ups with one-of-its-kind myriad opportunities including building meaningful partnerships, access to cross-border markets, funding pitches and meeting future teams, to the least,” Winny Patro said.
