Vijayawada: The Builders and Contractors Association of India president Vallabhaneni Venkateswara Rao demanded that all the pending bill of the contractors should be released and solve the issues of Goods and Service Taxes (GST).
A memorandum was given to the R and B Chief Engineer Y Jeevan Reddy to this effect here on Monday.
Addressing the media, Venkateswara Rao said that they were facing problems with the GST and pending bills from the government was a major problems they are facing.
He said that pending bills from 2014 to 2016-17 the State Standard Schedule Rate (SSR) rate, GST should be made applicable to it.
He recalled that to resolve GST issues Grater Visakha Municipal contractors were on relay hunger strike.
However, Minister P Narayana met the contractors who were on hunger strike and told them to meet at Amaravati to discuss on the issues to get them resolved.
Apart from GST issues, GO 118 should be slightly modified, said Venkateswara Rao.
He said that about Rs 3,500 crore were pending for the 2018 and about 2,500 contractors were facing financial crisis due to delay in payment.
