Chandrababu Naidu was a better Chief Minister earlier, says Krishna Rao
There is a lot of difference between the present Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and when he was the first time Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh, said former Chief Secretary to the State government I Y R Krishna Rao
Vijayawada: There is a lot of difference between the present Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and when he was the first time Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh, said former Chief Secretary to the State government I Y R Krishna Rao.
He said Chandrababu Naidu was a successful Chief Minister in the first term and he failed as the Chief Minister in his third term now. He made these comments at the function organised for the release of his book on Sunday.
The book written by him ‘Navyandhra: My Journey,’ was released by retired Supreme Court Judge Justice Jasti Chelameswar and former MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar at a private function hall here on Sunday. Retired IAS officers and others attended the event.
Krishna Rao covered various topics related to the bifurcation of the State, land pooling, problems faced by the State after bifurcation, construction of new capital, functioning style of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and other subjects in the book.
‘Navyandhra: My Journey’ has caused curiosity among political and administrative circles in the State as relations between Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and IYR Krishna Rao have not been good during the past few months. Recently, Krishna Rao also joined the BJP.
Krishna Rao dedicated the book to Chandana Khan, former Special Chief Secretary, Department of Tourism, and Murali Sagar, former Additional Commissioner, Labour department, Govt of AP. The two IAS officers were the former colleagues of Krishna Rao. He expressed his gratitude to the two officers for their cooperation during his service as IAS officer.
Former MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar presided over the book release function. Speaking on the occasion, Krishna Rao said trust between the political leaders and bureaucrats is very important. He recalled that former Chief Minister late N T Rama Rao used to discuss with the bureaucrats while taking important administrative decisions but such atmosphere is not seen these days.
He said the first term of the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu was entirely different from his current term. Naidu was a successful Chief Minister in the first term.
Krishna Rao pointed out that Naidu currently feels that he was born genius. He said some people become great because of their achievements and some others are born great.
Former Chief Secretary to the State government, Ajeya Kallam, former Special Chief Secretary, M Gopala Krishna, former Special Chief Secretary Chandana Khan and others spoke on the occasion.
The speakers expressed concern over the premier institutions in the nation losing their autonomy and strongly felt the need to protect them to save the democracy.
The guests also released another book ‘This, That and Everything,’ which is a compilation of the articles published in The Hans India during the last one year. The books are available in Visalandhra Publications and Amazon book house.
