Vijayawada: The second State-level invitation drama festival organised by Harsha Creations and Welfare Association commenced at Veledandla Hanumantharaya Grandhalayam Hall here on Thursday. Eight playlets are scheduled to stage during the three days of the festival.
The festival began with Gangotri’s (Peddakakani) performance titled “Sannajajulu”. The play was written by Divakar Babu and directed by Naidu Gopi. Very thin line of subject dealt with the minimum enjoyments of middleclass families. The artistes tried to get the appreciation of audience.
Including the director Gopi, Amrutha Varshini, Baburao and others performed the playlet.
The second playlet “Alito Saradaga” staged by Armature Dramatic Association, Chilakaluripet. This was penned by Addepalli Bharatkumar and framed by Sheik Shafi.
This was based on how the habits cultivated as fun create problem to family. The main roles performed by Shafi, Amrutavarshini and others. A section of audience enjoyed the playlet.
The last playlet of the day was an unscheduled playlet named “Vayyari Bhama .. Kayyala Mama”. The writer and director, Sukhamanchi Koteswara Rao also acted in this playlet along with Ayachitula Ramakrishna.
The organisers felicitated the theater personality Kolli Mohan Rao for his excellent service to uplift the drama.
President of the organisation Katti Syam Prasad, movie artiste Pilla Lakshmi Prasad and others were participated in the felicitation ceremony. The festival commenced with the classical dance of Tammina Jyotsna.
