Tirupati: District Collector PS Pradyumna has directed the officials to bring out an app for conducting National Inter District Junior Athletics Meet (NIDJAM-2018) for the convenience of all the participants. The event will be held at Sri Venkateswara University’s Tarakarama Stadium in Tirupati from December 1-3.

Reviewing the arrangements for NIDJAM with the committees in Tirupati on Tuesday, the Collector said every participant should cherish the hospitality of the district forever and all the works should be completed by November 28 and before that the app also should be brought into use.

All the officers and volunteers, who will be in duty for NIDJAM, should follow formal dress code, shoes and wear the identity card. At the boarding places of sportsmen, police security should be provided along with doctor, physiotherapist, Transco and sanitation officials in shift system.

Tourism department should gear up to take the sportspersons for sightseeing to places like Regional Science Centre, Chandragiri Fort among others. Joint Collector PS Girisha, Municipal Corporation Commissioner V Vijaya Rama Raju, Tirupati Sub Collector Dr Mahesh Kumar, Joint Collector-II V Chandramouli, SETVEN CEO S Lakshmi and others were present.

Houses for poor promised

Chittoor: District Collector P S Pradyumna has declared 40,000 houses will be constructed for the weaker sections in the district under the Urban Housing Scheme. Addressing a meeting at Nagaiah Kalaskhethram here on Tuesday, the Collector assured people of constructing houses with maximum facilities for lesser cost. Chittoor MLA DA Satyaprabha, Mayor K Hemalatha and other officials were present.
