Nellore: State government had set its target for grounding 8 lakh units by organising 4 mega melas across the state thus benefitting around 2.70 lakh people during the first phase, said the Minister P Narayana. Minister visited ‘Adarana’ exhibition organised at Kasturidevi gardens in the city on Monday Speaking at the meeting, Minister Narayana said that the state government has been trying to provide a minimum income of Rs.10,000 for every downtrodden family through various corporations including for SCs, STs, BCs, Minority, Christian, Kapu, Brahmana and others.

‘We have been providing modern tools to goldsmiths, barbers and other community related professionals as part of Adarana scheme. We would organise mega melas in four divisions in the district. State government had also increased the subsidy from 70 to 90 per cent for the convenience of poor people. The government had also increased funds from Rs.700 crore to Rs.960 crore,’ said the Minister. Rs. 9.18 crore has been sanctioned to 5,406 beneficiaries in the mega mela, he added.

They had already released funds for constructing Ambedkar Bhavans in Gudur, Sullurpeta and in other areas in the district. Works of Shaadi manzil have been speeded up and it is constructed with Rs.4 crore in Nellore city,’ said the Minister. Collector R Mutyala Raju appealed to the people to utilise government schemes to increase their financial status. RDO Chinni Krishna and others were present.
