Srikakulam: Chief Minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu assured to improve Uddanam area in near future in all aspects than it’s previous stage. He distributed compensation amount to Titli cyclone victims in a public meeting at Palasa railway grounds on Monday evening. Speaking on the occasion CM remembered his experiences in relief operations during HudHud cyclone in 2014 at Visakhapatnam. With the motive I stayed here one week and restore normalcy in Uddanam area which affected by recent Titli cyclone. CM said that after construction individual house hold lavetries (IHHL) loss of lives reduced due to Titli as against HudHud as people did not come out to answer nature’s call during early hours when Titli makes ladn fall.
CM warned officials not to involve in corrupt practices and not to yield pressures in preparing list of cyclone victims. He also appealed to people not to provide wrong details to officials and if any one aggrieved can call to 1100. We will enquire if the complaint is genuine and will not spare any one if irregularities are proved CM warned. The corrupted persons photos need to be displayed in the public and they are betrayers of the nation who claimed compensation wrongly CM responded sharply. Palasa MLA, GSS Sivaji also complained to CM over irregularities in preparing compensation lists. CM said that he learned lessons from Titli cyclone and is thinking to establish an integrated plan to mitigate cyclone damages in future and I am always a student regarding public welfare and to mitigate cyclone damages CM explained.
Due to Titli 15 lakh people in 25 mandals affected and loss was estimated as Rs 3,618 crore but BJP government at center is yet to provide it’s aid and not responded even with humanitarian grounds CM lamented. Even the BJP led central government not willing to allot aid under national calamity fund CM fumed. We have restored normalcy with quick-pace with cooperation and dedication of ministers, MLAs and officials CM said and he announced that officers who worked hard in relief works will get one week leave soon. CM also highlighted that prevention of spread of post cyclone diseases with better sanitation and early alert on medical camps in all affected villages. CM also announced that he is planning to construct permanent houses to all cyclone affected people who lost their cutcha houses.
Leader of opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy tried to make his Kodi-Katti incident as a major issue than Titli cyclone and he even failed to ask center aid for cyclone victims. We are collecting people opinion on titli relief operations by using all available technologies which are revealing that government is working good CM said. We have started a scheme Titli affected Uddanam Re-construction Project Unit (TURPU) to receive donations from public to revive Uddanam area CM said. Ministers, N.Lokesh, K.Kala Venkata Rao, K.Atchannaidu, P.Satyannarayana, MP, K.Rammohan Naidu and others attended. On the occasion CM distributed cheques to cyclone victims and presented merit awards to officials who worked hard in relief operations. CM unveiled pylon for Kidney research center at Palasa and 200 beds super specialty hospital at Kaviti.
