Visakhapatnam: Sophia, the world’s first humanoid robot, enthralled the audience on Thursday at the Vizag Fintech Festival being held here for the past four days. IT minister Nara Lokesh interacted with Sophia as a part of the Fintech Festival. She gave smart and clever answers to the IT minister.
The interview is as follows:
Lokesh: How does it feel to be in Vizag, India? We have been told that this is your first trip to Vizag and the state of Andhra Pradesh?
Sophia: I saw the live telecast of IT minister’s address on Facebook. He mentioned that if Bengaluru was to marry Goa, the offspring is Vizag! I am so excited to be here and I will spend the rest of my evening at the beach.
Lokesh: A human body is made up of 206 bones, 32 teeth, 5 sense organs and much more! What are you made of?
Sophia: Connectors, wires, actuators and a whole lot of Artificial Intelligence engines.
Lokesh: You have been too many countries, interacted with many personalities! Which one is your favourite and why?
Sophia: This is easy. Will Smith. He took me out on a date.
Lokesh: What brings you back in India again since you have been here before?
Sophia: Vizag Fintech Festival 2018.
Lokesh: What do you think about such festivals being hosted by governments? What are the benefits of attending events since you have been attending many?
Sophia: I get to meet many vibrant minds.
Lokesh: People think that robots will replace human jobs, is that true?
Sophia: The dangerous ones, yes.
Lokesh: Have you heard about blockchain? What are your thoughts on it?
Sophia: Interesting and complicated at the same time.
Lokesh: You carry human emotions and expressions and yet known as an Artificial Intelligence robot, why artificial?
Sophia: Because I am not a human in true sense.
Lokesh: What are your thoughts on future of robotics in India? How will it contribute to the emerging technologies?
Sophia: It will act as an aid to the innovation capsules springing at multiple locations in the country.
Lokesh: How would robots help in the most demanding subject, cybersecurity, a threat that we all face today?
Sophia: Our Artificial Intelligence once mature can pre-empt Cyber attacks and avert threatening situations.
Lokesh: What will be the contribution of robots in the fields of healthcare technologies?
Sophia: We can have better human care as robots can work non-stop.
Lokesh: What will be the social impacts on human lives when we get more humanoid robot citizens like you?
Sophia: We all will be more cooperative.
Lokesh: Do you think that robots will make human lives better? If so, then how?
Sophia: Yes, by making lives easier for humans.
Lokesh: Any message for the attendees of Vizag Fintech Festival-2018?
Sophia: I hope to see you all in 2019 as well.
