AKNU Kho Kho team lauded

Rajamahendravaram: Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU) students bagged third place in Andhra Pradesh State Inter University Kho Kho tournament held at Sri Venkateswara University recently.

The Kho Kho team competed with teams of other universities and finally proved its mettle. The team will represent the university in South Zone tournments and later in national level tournament.

Greeting the Kho Kho team members on the campus here on Thursday, university vice-chancellor Professor Murru Mutyala Naidu said the university is putting its endeavour to produce good players in various sports and games.

The university students are participating in inter-college, inter-university, state, south zone and national-level tournaments and bringing laurels to the university.

The university is encouraging the students to participate in the tournaments in which they are interested and all the affiliated colleges in twin Godavari districts were directed to encourage sports in their colleges, he said.

Sports helps to bring identity quickly and also to get jobs in sports quota to the students who proved their mettle, he averred.

Registrar Dr T Ashok, professors K Sriramesh, S Teki, KS Rao and others were present.
