Vijayawada: Noted writer and author of various forms of literature, Aluri Gowri Lakshmi has been selected by Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University for Keerthi Puraskaram for the year 2017.
Gowri Lakshmi is one among 43 personalities who were selected for Keerthi Puraskarams for their valuable contribution to Telugu literature.
Gowri Lakshmi was working as general manager of Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation here.
Alekhya Punjala, Registrar of Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, said in a statement here on Monday that Gowri Lakshmi has been selected for her contribution to Telugu literature in various forms including short stories, novels, poetry, contribution to columns in vernacular press, articles and satirical essays.
Lakshmi will be felicitated in Hyderabad on October 26 in a function along with cash award of Rs 5,016 and note of felicitation, she added. Despite her busy schedule as an officer of APIIC for the last 26 years, she has been contributing to the Telugu literature.
It may be recalled that Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu presented Aluri Gowri Lakshmi Ugadi Puraskaram during the celebration of Sri Vilambi Ugadi celebrations last March.
