Srikakulam: Nothing is remained in Titli cyclone affected villages in Itchapuram, Kaviti, Kanchili, Sompeta, Mandasa, Palasa, Vajrapukotturu mandals in Srikakulam district. Coconut, cashwe, drumstick trees, teak and other trees are collapsed with roots in these villages. Mainly fishermen villages had nothing after hitting cyclone. Officials are yet to visit Pallegollavada in Sompeta mandal so far. In the village 27 families lost their houses absolutely. In the village colony victims are sleeping on roads near the village during nights.
Safe drinking water is yet to supply in the village so far and officials are yet to visit here said Teppala Kodanda Rao of Pallegollavada. In the village coconut damaged in 250 acres, cashew damaged in 150 acres and paddy affected in 70 acres and all residents of the village lost their crop and houses. Power supply is yet to restore as a result safe water not available to them.
Tamada Kamaraju, Yerra Giridhar, Dunna Laxmamma, Teppala Neelamma, Teppala Varalaxami of Pallegollagandi village poured their woes. In Pallegolllagandi colony house roofs, walls collapsed and damaged fully of Yerra Papamma, Irothu Banumathi, Thota Savithri, Teppla Shanmuka Rao and others. In the colony Keelu Eswaramma hospitalised due to cardiac problem after witnessed cyclone damages. Cattle sheds of Dunna Ramalaxmi, Dunna Vajramma, Irothu Rukminamma and goats died during Wednesday night when cyclone hits the coast.
In Ramayyapatnam village also 30 families lost their houses absolutely Pondara Mohinamma, Batti Mahalaxmi, Senapathi Damayanthi Nitta Krishna veni lost their houses walls and roofs. ‘We are demanding Odisha model houses to immune from cyclone winds and to mitigate damages’ Maddu Raja Rao, Vada Santha Rao, Vada Sontosh explained. Four years ago Odisha CM, Naveen Patnaik built stron houses in the sea coast vilalges to avoid cyclone damages but here our government is supplying only roofs which are not useful to us they explained.
