Ongole: For its 20th anniversary celebrations, the NTR Kalaparishad has announced national-level drama festival from January 10 as part of the Bharateeyam Kalarchana 2019.

The Bharateeyam convener, Edara Bharat said that they were inviting applications for the drama festival from the artistes from all states and from all languages in the country.

He said that the drama can be performed in anything like poetry, prose, music, dance, social, historical, fiction, socio fantasy, mime, comedy, children, women, stage, arena or street performances and can have any duration and any number of scenes.

He said that they were offering honorarium to all performances based on the duration, style and variety of the stage art.

He said that apart from the railway travel subsidies, the drama with duration between 25 to 40 minutes can be given a minimum honorarium of Rs 20,000 and maximum of Rs 42,000.

Similarly, the performance with 2 hours above duration can be given an honorarium of Rs 35,000 minimum and maximum of Rs 60,000, he added.

He also said that the writers of the drama will be given 10 percent from the minimum honorarium, as a separate DD.

Edara Haribabu, the president of NTR Kalaparishad and chairman of Zilla Parishad, Prakasam district said that the interested teams can download the application from the website www.kalarchana.in and submit the filled in application by November 30.

He said that there is no application fees from this year but the teams should send their performances in digital format for scrutiny as explained in the application.

He added that the selected teams will be informed by December 15, after completing the scrutiny process.
