Nellore: The state government had planned to construct 7.81 lakh houses across the state and 76,000 were allocated for Nellore. Kavali would be getting 7,510 houses, said the Minister Narayana, who visited the proposed sites in Kavali on Friday.
He inspected the site at Jammalapalem and said they had already constructed 2,100 houses in 21 acres in Kavali town. 7,500 additional houses are going to be constructed, he stated. 1,300 houses were allotted to the beneficiaries through lottery system on Thursday.
The Minister said remaining houses will also be allocated by end of the month. Officials finalised Jammalapalem site where 5,398 houses would be constructed in 64.16 acres.
96 cents of government lands are available in the area and rest of the land would be acquired from other sources, he said. Municipal Commissioner A Venkateswarlu, Chairperson Alekhya and others were present.
