Chittoor: Industries Minister N Amaranatha Reddy on Tuesday launched Mukhyamantri Yuvanestham Scheme (MYS) here on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. He said that the Yuvanestham scheme will provide financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per month to 14,000 unemployed youth in the district.

Earlier, the Minister paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi by garlanding his statue. Speaking on the occasion, he recalled the sacrifices of freedom fighters for achieving independence to the nation.

He stated Gandhi liberated the country from British rule with two powerful weapons called non-violence and truth. District Collector P S Pradyumna has explained the modalities and objectives of Yuvanestham scheme. ZP Chairperson Girvani, Chittoor MLA D A Satyaprabha and others were present. Later, the Minister left to District Police Training Centre and participated in birth anniversary celebrations of Gandhi.

Call to make use of MYS

Kadapa: The MYS was launched in all the Assembly constituencies across the district on Tuesday, on the occasion of Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary celebrations. Leaders of various political parties and officials have garlanded the statue and portraits of Mahatma and lauded the crucial role played by him during the independence struggle.

In Jammalamadugu, Marketing Minister C Adinarayana Reddy has launched Yuvanestham scheme and called upon the youth to make use of scheme for improving employable skills. The Minister stated aim of the Chief Minister in introducing MYS is to prevent unrest among the unemployed youth till they got jobs.

In Mydukur, TTD Chairman Putta Sudhakar Yadav has participated in the rally after garlanding the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. APCC Vice-President N Tulasi Reddy, DCC President Sheik Nazir Ahmad, YSRCP MLA Amjad Pasha, former MLC Satish Reddy and other leaders among those who paid floral tributes to Gandhi.

District Collector C Hari Kiran stated 12,166 unemployed are eligible to receive unemployment allowance in the district. On the directions of the Chief Minister, various skill development training programmes will be conducted for unemployed youth in the district, he mentioned.
