Sun rays started touching the temple idol by 6.03 am and continued till 6.06 am for three minutes from bottom to top. The idol looked in gold colour to the devotees with sun rays touching it. Every year on October 1 and 2 and on March 9 and 10, sun rays will touch the presiding deity idol. Devotees from various parts of the country visit the temple to witness the event.

Many devotees have arrived by Sunday evening and stayed in the night to have darshan of Sun God and to witness the phenomenal event. Devotees believe that darshan of Sun God during that period will prevent all kinds of skin and other diseases.
