Paderu/ Araku: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is not happy with the AP police, who failed to guard the lives of Araku MLA K Sarveswara Rao and former MLA Siveri Soma from the CPI Maoists attacks at Dumbriguda mandal in the agency on last Sunday.
After his US tour, the Chief Minister arrived at Amaravati last night and without taking rest he directed the officials to make arrangements for his agency visit to console the slain leaders of the party.
According to sources, the Chief Minister expressed his deep dissent over the failure of the police department. Even after Maoists issued series of warnings to MLA K Sarveswara Rao, the police failed to assess the information and protect him, the Chief Minister opined. Chandrababu Naidu condemned the Maoists brutal attacks on MLA K Sarveswara Rao and former MLA S Soma. He said that the brutal act as undemocratic and cowardice.
The Telugu Desam government had already buried the bauxite mining in Visakhapatnam agency in the well-being of tribals and it was announced in front of lakhs of people on various occasions. The Telugu Desam government would not lift the bauxite reserves honouring the sentiments and feelings of the tribals, Chandrababu Naidu said.
Chandrababu Naidu visited the houses of the slain party leaders MLA K Sarveswara Rao at Paderu and former MLA Siveri Soma at Araku Valley on Friday and consoled the family members.
On the occasion, he assured the family members that the party and the government would attend all the issues of the families. Naidu arrived in the city on Friday by a special flight and left for Paderu by a helicopter met the MLA Sarveswara Rao family members.
Later, addressing the media, the Chief Minister expressed his sadness over the bloodbath and said that there was no place for violence in democracy. The people of Araku valley has lost committed leader Sarveswara Rao who always strove hard for the development of the Araku region and development of the tribal pockets in the agency. The development of the agency areas is not possible if the Maoists continue attacks on the visionary leaders like Sarveswara Rao and Soma, Naidu said.
Chandrababu Naidu announced Group I job to Sarveswara Rao’s younger son and a plot for constructing a house in Visakhapatnam city and Rs 1 crore from the government. He also announced a financial help of Rs 5 lakh each to all the four members of the family on behalf of the Telugu Desam Party.
Later, the Chief Minister rushed to Araku valley and interacted with the Soma family members. He paid floral tributes to Soma. He assured to support to the family from the government and party. He enquired about children and their careers. He announced Rs 10 lakh for each family member among the seven family members from the government and the party would pay Rs 5 lakh to each family members.
