Vijayawada: The department of Food Science and Technology of Maris Stella College in association with Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority jointly organised a cookery competition on the college premises here on Monday.

The participants displayed traditional Andhra Thalis, puddings, traditional homemade sweets and other recipes. The students actively participated in the competition.

The winners of the competition were given prizes by the college principal.

The first prize was bagged by Harsha Vardhini, who won a cash prize of Rs 5,000, Vineetha won second prize and won Rs 3000 and the third prize was won by Lakshmi Sujatha who got Rs 2,000 cash prize.

Sambasiva Rao, Director, AP Tourism Authority, Nishar Ahmed, Assistant Director, AP Tourism, College Principal, Dr Sr Jasintha Quadras, Sr Rekha, J Tulalsi, department of food science along with staff members participated in the programme.
