Vijayawada: Finally, Vijayawada urban mandal tahsil office has been divided into four offices for the convenience of people and the revenue department. The new urban mandals are Vijayawada Central, Vijayawada East, Vijayawada North and Vijayawada West.
People living on the outskirts areas like Ashok Nagar, Bhavanipuram, Kabela and Kandrika are facing many problems for the past many years to visit the urban mandal office located at Gandhi Nagar. The new offices will start functioning with full strength after the division of work. The officials are dividing the work to four offices in the city for the convenience of people and the staff.
The revenue staff, too, suffered many hardships due to increasing burden of work and increased geographical areas of the city during the past decades. The urban office has been attached to Mee-Seva centres, which provide 60 types of services related to the revenue department. The revenue staff visit various parts of the city for verification to issue the income certificates, caste certificates and family certificate.
The state government has divided the urban mandal into four mandals for the convenience of people and for better administration. Existing urban tahsil, who is the tahsildar for the Central mandal, Rahman Mastan, said that the government is appointing staff to the new offices on a deputation basis.
The division of one office into four offices will be useful and convenient to the people as the city has been expanding fast after bifurcation of the state and the population is also gradually growing.
The revenue department is searching for convenient buildings for setting up of the new offices at Ajit Singh Nagar, Patamata and Bhavanipuram for Vijayawada North, East and West offices respectively. All the 59 municipal divisions in the corporation limits will come under the limits of four mandal offices.
Vijayawada east division has the least number of only 12 municipal divisions. Municipal divisions from 2 to 14 are covered by the east mandal office. Gunadala, Moghalrajpuram and Patamata areas come under east mandal revenue office. The existing urban tahsildar office located at Gandhi Nagar is allotted to Central mandal office, which have 16 municipal divisions under its limits.
Municipal divisions 15 to 24,36,40,41,42,48 and 50 come under central mandal revenue office. North mandal revenue office will be established at Ajit Singh Nagar. Municipal divisions 1,5, 43,44,45,46,47,51 to 59 come under north mandal office.
West mandal office will come up atr Bhavanipuram area. Municipal divisions from 25 to 35, 37,38,39 and 49 will be covered in west mandal office.
North and central mandal offices have 16 divisions each. East has only 12 divisions and west mandal office has 15 municipal divisions.
The government has appointed Imtiaz Pasha as the tahsildar for the west office. Gannavaram tahsildar Gopala Krishna is the in-charge of the east office and A Ravindra Rao, the rural mandal tahsildar is the in-charge for the north office.
A senior officer in the revenue department said temporarily, the offices will be shifted to some government offices at Ajit Singh Nagar, Patamata and Bhavanipuram respectively and permanent arrangements will be made in future after finding suitable buildings.
