Tirupati: The Urban police are making foolproof security arrangements for the 10-day Brahmotsavams to begin from September 13. This time, around 2 lakh pilgrims are expected to visit Tirumala every day for Brahmotsavams and more than 5 lakh on Garuda Seva day.
1,000 students from local villages to be drafted as volunteers. They would be posted at pilgrim help desks, for traffic clearance, child tagging and for other needs About 3,000 cops would be deployed for security of Brahmotsavams.
On Garuda Seva Day, police officials to deploy an additional 1,100 personnel from special police and armed reserve. Speaking to The Hans India, Urban SP Abhishek Mohanty said enough number of cops would be drafted for security.
For the convenience of pilgrims, who are coming for Brahmotsavams by own vehicles, Urban police developed a mobile app called ‘real time parking tracking’. Pilgrims can know the parking status of their vehicles which would be helpful to track their parked vehicles in Tirumala.
To avoid missing of children during mega event, cops would be implementing child tagging and facial bio-metric methods. For this purpose, help desks are being set up at railway station, bus stand and some other places.
