Guntur: Minister for Human Resources and Development Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that the government has selected 167 teachers for presenting Best Teacher award. Chief Minister N Chandrabbau Naidu will felicitate them at a programme to be held at C K Convention Centre at Atmakur on September 5, on the occasion of Teachers Day celebrations, the minister said.
Addressing media on Tuesday after reviewing arrangements for Chief Minister’s meeting to be held on Wednesday, Srinivasa Rao said that 75 teachers are selected from school education, 13- lecturers are selected from Intermediate education, 16 lecturers from polytechnic colleges, 51 lecturers from higher education and 12 from Language and Cultural department. Ganta said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will felicitate best teachers and give Rs. 20,000 cash, medal, citation and memento to each of them.
He reminded that the government has allocated Rs.25000 crore to the Education in the Budget and taken steps to develop A.P as knowledge hub and developing infrastructure in the colleges and schools. Replying to a question, the government will fill 1345 assistant professor posts,and set up 50 new government junior colleges,15 degree colleges and polytechnic college in the state soon. Special chief secretary Aditya Nath Das, Intermediate Education commissioner B.Udaya Lakshmi were also present.
