Tirumala: Srivari Seva voluntary service which has commenced by TTD about 18 years ago to provide an opportunity to serve devotees on pilgrimage to the hill top temple town Tirumala, the abode of Lord Venkateswara, is set to create history with the new twin buildings set to be inaugurated by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu during the ensuing Brahmotsavams, said TTD JEO K S Sreenivasa Raju.
The JEO made extensive visits covering various focal points to inspect the massive arrangements underway for the smooth conduct of Brahmotsavam.
On the occasion, he also inspected the twin buildings coming up at a cost of Rs 100 crore behind Kalyana Vedika in Tirumala, for Srivari Seva volunteers.
Speaking to media on the occasion, Raju said Srivari Seva volunteers have been rendering commendable services to pilgrims.
"Recently to encourage more youth, employee and educated into voluntary service, we have introduced short period of 3-4 day services for which volunteers can be enrolled in on-line also.
So, in future Srivari Seva would emerge as a role model to all the voluntary organisations," he said.
To enhance the quality of service by Srivari Sevaks, the JEO said we have constructed this Seva Gramam exclusively for volunteers with two buildings to accommodate male and female volunteers separately.
The Seva Gramam will have 16 halls with a dining hall in each building, he said and added there will be a Satsangam hall to orient sevaks on behavioural attitude, soft communication skills while dealing with pilgrims and rendering services in various places like issuing of laddus, serving food in Annadanam.
He said TTD is making elaborate arrangements to ensure devotees comfortably witness from galleries the Vahana sevas held during the Brahmotsavam.
He added the creation of additional facilities like toilets at a cost of Rs 28 crore is in full swing to cope with rush.
