Ongole: Society should make use of the experiences of elderly people and build great future, said T Raja Venkatadri, the secretary of District Legal Services Authority and senior civil judge in Ongole on Friday.

He visited the old-age home run by the Kakateeya Seva Samiti at Trovagunta village and participated in the Legal Awareness Camp held on the premises.

He explained the old-aged that neglecting the parents as they turned old or due to financial reasons was a crime and they could initiate legal action on sons and daughters for the harassment.

He said that they were conducting legal awareness camps in old age homes as per the directions of National Legal Services Authority to create awareness among the senior citizens.

He said that the DLSA would offer free legal help to the old aged and appoint a lawyer for free to argue their case, if required.

The Kakateeya Seva Samiti president, Marella Satynarayana, organiser AKVK Subbarao, donor of the place Nalluri Venkatrao were also participated in the programme.
