Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee on Wednesday ridiculing Opposition leader YSRCP President YS Jaganmohan Reddy wondered whether he was running a marriage bureau to conduct marriages between the political parties.
Addressing newsmen, APCC general secretary SN Raja and secretaries Christopher Tilak and Meyyappan said some parties were afraid of resurgence of Congress party and that is why they are indulging in mud-slinging against the Congress party.
Ruling out alliance with any party, the Congress leaders said our alliance is only with people and the state would benefit only through Congress coming to power.
The Congress leaders said that senior Congress leader and In-charge of the State Affairs Oommen Chandy and PCC chief Dr Raghuveera Reddy would be organising meetings with the coordination committee members of all the 13 districts soon.
They said that the Congress party has set an agenda to go to people in 2019 after conducting awareness classes with senior Congress leaders. They asserted that the people of the state understood that only Congress would render justice to the state.
“Andhra Pradesh people now believe that only Rahul Gandhi would do justice to the state and he would only accord special category status to AP,” they added. The Congress is ready to face elections in 175 constituencies and its cadre would be set up in over 40,000 polling booths across the state, they said.
The Congress leaders asserted that the regional parties were afraid of the resurgence of the Congress. They ridiculed the appeal of the regional parties to give them 25 MP seats with which they could achieve nothing. ”The regional party is only trying to mislead people with its misplaced propaganda,” they added.
