Visakhapatnam: Over2,481 candidates qualified in the AP state eligibility test conducted for recruitment of assistant professors and lecturers across the state. Addressing media after releasing the APSET-2018 results here on Saturday, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said over 2,481 aspirants qualified in the test out of 33,240 candidates appeared for the test.
He said the pass percentage increased by 7.4 percent in the APSET-2018 when compared to APSET-2017. The APSET-2018 was conducted by the Andhra University on July 1 in 31 subjects for recruitment of lecturers and assistant professors in various universities, degree colleges and institutes of higher learning and to carry out research work like MPhil and PhD across the state.
A total of 42,663 candidates registered, 33,320 candidates comprising 17,471 male and 15, 849 female attended the examination. The candidates have to secure at least 40 percent aggregate marks (all three papers put together) for qualifying the test in general category and the qualifying percentage for candidates belonged to SC/ST/BCs is 35 percentage.
