Nellore: District Congress Committee (DCC) organised a one-day training session to the members of the coordination committees of 10 Assembly constituencies at Indira Bhavan here on Thursday.
Fourteen senior leaders from each constituency were selected and were provided training on political aspects in connection with the upcoming elections.
They broadly discussed on what steps to be taken for strengthening the party from grassroots-level and formation of booth-level committees. They proposed to appoint booth-level committees with at least 10 members, who would be in touch with the local voters and explain about the development that had taken place during the Congress regime. Members also need to explain to the voters that what has been lacking during regime of other parties and what they do if they come to power in 2019 polls.
AICC Secretary CD Meyyappan was the chief guest, another secretary Mastan Vali, PCC Legal Cell Chairman Sundara Rama Sarma, PCC official spokesperson Srinivasa Rao, and others were present. Former Union Ministers Panabaka Lakshmi and Chinta Mohan explained plans of the party. Meyyappan exhorted party cadre to strive hard for strengthening the Congress in the district.
In this connection, he released party’s Mission-2019 document during the training session. Party District President Panabaka Krishnaiah, senior leaders CV Sesha Reddy, Ch Devakumar Reddy, PCB Yadav and others were present.
Further, AICC Secretary Meyyappan interacted with the media and said he had attended the training session held for the coordination committee members. He said these sessions are being organised across the state for strengthening the party.
