Independence Day celebrated on grand note by Siddhartha Academy in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: To mark the 72nd Independence Day, schools, degree colleges, engineering colleges and other institutions organised various programmes to celebrate the occasion here on Wednesday.
Maris Stella College invited Col Left Jitendra Kumar, NCC, Andhra Pradesh, Girls, Vijayawada, as the Chief Guest of the Programme. He hoisted the national flag and addressed the students and recalled the joy and happiness of Indians when the Tricolor was hoisted for the first time after Independence.
Dr Sr Jasintha Quadras, principal, Correspondent Sr Sleeva Thumma, Principal Dr Sr Jasintha and former principal Dr Sr Rekha, Dr Beulah Pearl Sunanda, HoD, Dept of History, Ms Glory, Head, Department of Computer Science, Left N Sailaja, NCC Officer, Malathi and Matilda and other faculty members and students were present in the programme.
Siddhartha Public School celebrated I-Day by inviting B Ramakrishna, commissioner of state Taxes Enforcement, government of AP as the chief guest of the programme.
He said that the young generation should strive to spread the glory of the nation across the world. Siddhartha academy president N Venkateswarulu, secretary P Laxman Rao, Lalitha Prasad, P Prabhas and others were present.
PB Siddhartha Arts and Science College celebrated I-Day on the college premises. The college principal Dr M Ramesh, hoisted the Tricolor and the NCC cadets participated in the parade and started the Independence Day celebrations.
Freedom-fighter Uppalapati Chalapati Rao was the chief guest of the I-Day programme. He said without caste and religion differences all the Indians fought against the British for the freedom.
The present generation without knowing the value and importance of freedom struggle were creating communal riots, he lamented.
Later, the management of the college felicitated Chalapati Rao.
