Chief Minister’ s promise goes for a toss

Visakhapatnam: Pedalabudu panchayat in Araku Valley mandal, which is adopted by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, was deprived of potable drinking water.

Though Chandrababu Naidu announced several sops to the village, there are no drinking water connections to the houses at Pedalabudu panchayat. Not only drinking water connections, but also there is no proper implementation of welfare schemes in the village.

Collector Pravin Kumar, who visited the village on Saturday, expressed unhappiness over delay in completion development works.

While reviewing the drinking water works, Pravin Kumar found that though the government had sanctioned individual drinking water connections to every house in the village, but there is no progress.

Venting his ire at the Rural Water Supply officials, the Collector directed the superintending engineer of RWS to review the works after 10 days and submit a report on the progress.

Pedalabudu villagers are not happy over sanction of pensions, individual toilets, houses, NREGS, NTR Jalasiri and delay in implementation of the works.

Many complaints are being received from the villagers and they are not satisfied about the performance of the officials, the Collector lamented.
He also warned the officials of various departments that stringent action would be initiated against the officials concerned, if any Pedalabudu villager again lodges a complaint.
