Dhone (Kurnool): Dejected lovers committed suicide after jumping in front of a running goods train at Bethamcherla in Kurnool district on Friday evening. The deceased were identified as Surendra (25) and Harika (20), both residents of Hanuman Nagar Colony in Bethamcherla town.
According to the information, they were in love for some time. They wanted to marry after getting the consent from their families. But the proposal of the couple was rejected by the respective family members and restrictions were imposed on them as they were warned not to meet again. With the restrictions, the lovers came to a decision to end their lives.
Both Surendra and Harika came to Bethamcherla Railway Station and jumped before a goods train crossing the station at that time. With the deaths, members of both the families were soaked in a state of grief.
Surendra was known to be running a mobile shop while Harika had completed her intermediate and was staying at home. The railway police have sent the bodies to Dhone Area Hospital for post mortem and later handed over to the family members. Railway police filed a case and it is under investigation.
