Visakhapatnam: Demanding K Haribabu’s resignation for MP’s post, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Students and Youth Association and Jana Jagarana Samithi staged a novel protest by wearing flowers behind ears here on Wednesday.

They alleged that Visakhapatnam MP K Haribabu took the people for a ride during the past four years and failed to bring special railway zone Visakhapatnam as headquarters. Demanding Haribabu’s resignation, a large number of students and youth gathered in front of GVMC’s building and staged the protest.

Speaking on the occasion, Jana Jagarana Samithi leader K Vasu said that the BJP leaders during the past four years announcing that the railway zone would be set up in Vizag, but now in Parliament, Haribabu said that the Technical Committee mentioned in its report that it is not possible to establish a railway zone, however, the government is seriously considering the demand. He is not mounting pressure on the Centre for railway zone and misleading the people, he lamented.
