Visakhapatnam: As the infertility is becoming an epidemic for youngsters. More and more young couples are seeking treatment for infertility. Assisted Reproductive Technologies conducted a conclave in association with Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society of Visakhpatnam (OGSV) here on Sunday in which 300 gynecologists from three coastal districts participated.

Addressing the media, Dr Durga G Rao, Co-Founder and Medical Director of Oasis Centre for Reproductive Medicine, said: “We are conducting this conclave to train clinicians from across the state by the conducting workshops in the areas of management of male infertility, hands on refreshers workshop on hysteroscopy to enable the clinicians to get comprehensive knowledge from surgical perspective and a workshop in ultrasonography in fertility practice.

At the end of it, we need the participants to get empowered with knowledge and recent updates on fertility treatment aspects so that they can start treating more infertile couples. As it is being conducted in association with VOGS, the clinicians will be awarded two credit points for attending the conclave”.

Dr Krishna Chaitanya, scientific head and clinical embryologist of Oasis Centre for Reproductive Medicine, said that in the country the general notion is that infertility clinics are meant only for treating women, the entire male infertility gamut is just ignored.
