A galaxy of TDP leaders, including MPs, MLAs and MLCs, from across the state slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for betraying the Telugu people and warned that the PM and his party would meet the same fate as the Congress, in 2019 general and Assembly elections
Anantapur: A galaxy of TDP leaders, including MPs, MLAs and MLCs, from across the state slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for betraying the Telugu people and warned that the PM and his party would meet the same fate as the Congress, in 2019 general and Assembly elections.
Dubbed as 'Karuvu Seema Pai TDP MP la Deeksha', the MPs trained their guns against the Centre and the Prime Minister and called him the most wicked man.
Anantapur MP Diwakar Reddy lambasted Modi by saying that the people would wait just one more year for Modi to step down in 2019 and only the next non-BJP government would address the pressing issues of AP. As long as Modi is at the helm of affairs nothing will happen in the state, he added.
Diwakar Reddy accused the Prime Minister of being jealous of the growing popularity of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and with a view to check him had stopped doing anything for AP. He even tried in vain to thwart Kia Motors from coming to AP.
“The PM called the Kia Motors’ people three times to persuade them to come to Gujarat. So mean and wicked he is that he is indirectly taking vengeance on Telugu people but the Chief Minister was very smart in outwitting the latter in politicking and finally got the Kia plant to the district,” he said.
The 7-time MLA from Tadipatri and MP from Anantapur announced that he is quitting politics and that he would not contest the general election in 2019. He, however, appealed to the people to vote only for the TDP and Chandrababu Naidu for the future of their children. If Babu is given another term, he would do miracles for the state, he added.
Rajya Sabha member C M Ramesh challenged YSRCP president Y Jaganmohan Reddy to attend the all-party meeting to be addressed by the Prime Minister on July 18 and take on the Prime Minister on the issue of the special category status.
He accused Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan and Jaganmohan Reddy of being hand in glove with the BJP. Vijayawada MP Kesineni and Machilipatnam MP K Narayana praised the Chief Minister as the champion of the state.
Guntur MP Galla Jayadev said he along with other MPs had raised the issue of the SCS and participated in debates on the injustice meted out to the state. He said Narendra Modi had promised SCS to the state at a public meeting in Tirupati, if voted to power. But went back on the promise after he became the Prime Minister, he said, describing the betrayal by the Prime Minister as the biggest fraud perpetuated on the people of the state.
Amalapuram MP Ravindra said the fight would continue against the Modi government until the demands of AP are realized. He urged the people of the state to give 25 Lok Sabha seats to the TDP in 2019. He made the people shout the slogan 'Pratyeka Hoda-Andhrula Hakku'. Kurnool MP Butta Aruna has called upon the Telugu people to teach a befitting lesson to the BJP in 2019.
Dharmavaram MLA Varadapuram Suri, while having a dig at the Prime Minister, said 11 universities were promised to the state under the AP Reorganization Act. Besides a steel plant in Kadapa, railway zone in Visakhapatnam, metro rail in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam and Rs 24,000 crore for 7 backward districts apart from the industrial corridor between Chennai and Visakhapatnam were promised but nothing had been implemented.
Puttaparthi MLA Palle Raghunath Reddy and MLC Payyavula Keshav and Anantapur MLA Prabhakar Choudhury were among those who denounced Modi. They stated the TDP would be the kingmaker post 2019 elections and would be instrumental in the election of the Prime Minister.
