Kadapa: Minister for SERP, Women Empowerment and Child Welfare Paritala Sunitha has directed the officials to strive to place Kadapa in first place by effective implementation of schemes for the welfare of women and children.
The Minister, along with Child Welfare department special commissioner Arun Kumar, District Collector C H Harikiran, held a review meeting with ICDS officials, CDPO’s and supervisors here on Monday. She said that Chief Minister was kind enough to sanction Rs 400 crores additionally in the current financial year for the welfare schemes of women and children.
She expressed concern over nutritious problems being faced by children in Kadapa district and warned that stringent action would be taken against officials if they are negligent in implementing the schemes for providing nutritious food to children.
The minister also pointed out that there were no bath rooms in many of Anganwadi centres in the district. She instructs the Collector to make surprise visits to Anganwadi centres and conduct review meeting. The minister has directed that every Anganwadi centre has to enrol the weight, height, nutrition task of the children in online data every month.
She lauded that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was responsible for introduction of Amrutha Hastam and Balamrutham schemes and directed the officials to take steps for effective implementation of the schemes. ICDS Special Commissioner Arun Kumar said Growth Monitoring Percentage (GMP) in Kadapa district is very poor compared to other districts.
He pointed out enrolment of online data related to the weight, and height, Nutrition Task of the children less in the Anganwadi centres in Rayachoti , LR Palli, Rajampet, Proddaturu, mandals. The minister has inspected Lakkireddy Palli Anganwadi centre on this occasion. Joint Collector-2 Ramachandra Reddy ICDS PD Padmaja and others were present.
