Tirupati: To overcome the anti-establishment vote in BJP ruled Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh which are going to polls this year, the party high command has brought in the idea of holding simultaneous polls to Lok Sabha and State Assemblies, opined Guntur MP Galla Jayadev.

Speaking at the function held to felicitate his mother and former minister Galla Aruna Kumari as she became TDP politburo member in Tirupati on Tuesday, he said, the BJP has been facing tough situation in the three States and several surveys were indicating negative results for the party. In view of this, BJP has been raising the slogan of simultaneous polls, he observed.

He made it clear that the TDP will continue its agitation in Parliament for the State and the exact strategy will be finalised at the Parliamentary party meeting to be held on July 12. If needed, TDP will give notice of no-confidence motion again, Jayadev said.

Saying that Pawan Kalyan was now talking about north Andhra development, Jayadev wondered why the Jana Sena chief was not asking Prime Minister Narendra Modi on railway zone. As long as there is Modi-Shah rule, AP will not get its due, he opined. TDP politburo member Aruna Kumari once again reiterated that she will not contest next elections but will work for party actively.

“There are so many youth in the party and CM will select the proper candidate for Chandragiri and I will work hard for party candidate’s victory,” she said. Party leaders Vuka Vijaya Kumar, Dr R Sudha Rani and others took part in the meeting. Earlier, party workers organised a scooter rally from Town Club Circle to Urban Haat where the meeting was held.
