Nellore: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said that they would allocate additional seats in the Municipal Residential Junior College (MRJC) for students of the city keeping in view of the demand. The Minister interacted with the students of residential junior college at VR College premises in the city here on Friday. Speaking to the media, Narayana said the TD government had introduced reforms in the municipal schools and the results yielded were also positive across the state.

He explained that there are 2,500 municipal schools across the state and 2.5 lakh students have been pursuing education. He also explained that now municipal schools in the state have filled with 98 per cent students due to quality education being provided by the department on par with corporate educational institutions. He also said that 60 high schools across the district have displayed ‘No Admission’ boards which shows the demand for seats.

“42 students, who have completed the first year Intermediate in Municipal Residential Junior College in the city have got 10/10 in improvement examinations. Now, they have been preparing for IIT Advanced, IIT Mains and Eamcet. We are ready to implement the same system in two sections in KAC Junior College, DKW Junior College and in VR College for better output from the students,” said the Minister.

Now, students from Krishna, Anantapur, East Godavari, Prakasam and also from Nellore districts have been selected for the first-year Intermediate sessions in the Municipal Residential Junior College, he added. He also informed that they would start a section only for these 60 students, who have completed SSC in Nellore Municipal Corporation limits. Minister Narayana informed that the classes would be commenced from July 11. Municipal Commissioner SA Basha, former legislator MSK Reddy and others were present.
