Chittoor: District Joint Collector PS Girisha released a CD on adulterated and junk foods here on Tuesday. The CD was brought out by District Consumer Council (DCC), a Tirupati based NGO, to create awareness against food adulteration and junk foods.

It also contains simple techniques to find out whether food was adulterated or not and the ill-effects of eating junk foods. Speaking on the occasion, DCC district president P Raja Reddy said that this CD was released to help the public more so the children to avoid junk foods and promote safe food habits like taking traditional food items, vegetables and fruits. District Supply Officer Chamundeswari, DCC secretary M Srinivasulu, members Seshadri, Ramudu and others were present.
