YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan ReddyVijayawada: YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Wednesday accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of targeting the YSR Congress leaders and cadre in the State. Jaganmohan Reddy consoled the family members of A Krishna Rao at Gottumukkala of Nandigama Assembly constituency here. Krishna Rao was allegedly killed by the Telugu Desam leaders on Sunday for working against the TD in the last elections.

Jaganmohan Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister was encouraging his party leaders in the State to kill the YSR Congress leaders and activists. In the last two months over 30 activists of the YSR Congress were killed by the TD leaders, he alleged. He also accused Chandrababu Naidu of encouraging faction politics targeting the Opposition YSR Congress.

He also blamed the police for remaining mute spectators to the ruling party's violence. He said that most of the murders were executed by the TD leaders in the presence of the police. He cautioned the police of severe protest if they continued to support the ruling party's violence. He alleged that the police role was dangerous to the democracy.

Jaganmohan Reddy conveyed his sympathies to the family members of Krishna Rao and promised to stand by them. The former minister and YSR Congress leader K P Saradhi, former legislator Samineni Uday Bhanu and other leaders of the party were present along with Jaganmohan Reddy. Earlier in the day, Jaganmohan Reddy arrived at Gannavaram airport from Hyderabad and proceeded to Gottumukkala village by road. The YSR Congress leaders received him at the airport and accompanied with him in the tour.
