Eluru: Mayor Sheikh Noorjahan, has said she that he will give a prize money of Rs 1 lakh to every school that achieved hundred percent results in 10th Class public examinations under Eluru Municipal Corporation limits.
She participated as chief guest in the annual day function of Sri Krishnadevaraya Municipal Corporation High School in Eastern Street here. Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Noorjahan said that her husband and Prashant Real Estate proprietor SMR Pedababu had given away Rs one lakh prize to the municipal schools that achieved hundred percent results last year. This year also, he came forward to give prize to the schools who achieved cent percent results.
She suggested that the teachers should impart good training and teaching to the students to achieve cent percent results and take it as a challenge. This year 850 students had been attending for the 10th public examination from seven Municipal Corporation High Schools. She aspired the students to get good results this year also. She assured that the Municipal Corporation would provide free education facility in Intermediate to the students of municipal schools who get 9.5 marks in 10th examinations.
Municipal Cooption member SMR Pedababu said that Prashanth Real Estates would distribute writing pads to 6,500 students of 49 schools in the city and requested the headmaster to see every student get the writing pad. Deputy Mayors Gudiwada Ramachandra Kishore, Chode Venkata Ratnam, corporators Maram Hanumantha Rao, Gopal, Punukollu Pardha Saradhi, Head Master Haribabu participated. The Mayor and her husband Pedababu distributed writing pads to the 148 students on the occasion.
