He distributed scholarships to the meritorious poor students, at a programme held under the aegis of Srikrishnadevaraya Trust at Sri Venkateswara Vignana Mandiram here on Sunday. Speaking on this occasion, he suggested students to do hard work to come up in the life and stressed on significance of character and good behaviour. He explained that literacy was different from education. “The educated person should have character and good behavior. There are well educated financial criminals in our country. They are literates,” he differentiated.

He appreciated Sri Krishnadevaraya Trust for distributing scholarships to the students for the last 23 years to extend helping hand to the meritorious poor students. Those who availed the scholarships should extend helping hand to others when they get an opportunity in future, he advised, adding that development of country was linked to the development of the youth.

Tulasi Seeds chairman Tulasi Ramachandraprabhu opined that in order to develop country, there was a need for skilled and talented youth. This was the reason behind issue of scholarships to meritorious students. He urged the students to get inspired by the soldiers who sacrificed their life for the country and felt there was a need to develop country.

An NGO representative V Rajani said that if students work hard, they would prosper in life. Hard work of six years would pave the way for next 60 years. She urged the students to do hard work in life. Later, VV Lakshminarayana distributed scholarships to 215 meritorious poor students.
