The jatara of Goddess Peddinti Ammavaru will commence on Friday and last till March 1 at the temple in Kolletikota village of Kaikaluru mandal of Krishna district, according to the temple Executive Officer, Akula Kondala Rao.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the executive officer said that the Jatara would be started at 10.05 am on Friday morning at the temple situated in Kolletikota, a bed village of Kolleru lake. On February 27, the Kalyanam of Jaladurga, Gokarneswara Swamy would be performed. The Health Minister, Kamineni Srinivas would inaugurate the festival on Friday morning at the temple, he said.

During the Jatara of Peddintlamma Ammavaru, cultural and spiritual programmes would be conducted at the temple. The devotees can reach the temple by road from Alapadu in Kaikaluru mandal and by launch through Circar Canal. There was an iron bridge from Alapadu to Kolleti Kota across Circar Canal, he stated.
