Eluru: West Godavari District Collector (DC) K Bhaskar directed the industry officials to take necessary action to establish industries in 173.6 acres land at Ramasingavaram village in Pedavegi mandal.
The Collector presided over the District Industries Promotion Council meeting held here on Wednesday. Addressing the meeting, he said that Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) had allotted the land at Ramasingavaram one year ago.
He expressed his displeasure over the negligence of the APIIC officials for not taking any decision on the setting up of industries here. He directed the APIIC Zonal Manager Sharath Babu to complete the survey within one week and avoid delay for preparation of layout and send it to Andhra Pradesh Directorate of Town & Country Planning (APDTCP) for approval. He directed the APDTCP official M Koteswara Rao to approve those proposals within two days of the reception.
The Collector said that WEM Technologies which had allotted 330 acres of land in Vatluru village near Eluru to establish aerospace equipment manufacturing unit. He directed the officials to take necessary steps to see the speedy establishment of the industry. He pointed out that the WEM Technologies had requested to allot another 19 acres and directed industries officials to submit those proposals to him to send it for approval to the government.
If the aerospace equipment manufacturing unit was established in Vatluru, thousands of unemployed youth would get employment directly and indirectly. District Industries Centre Deputy Director N Adisehshulu, District Panchayat Officer Mullapudi Venkata Ramana and Commercial Taxes Deputy Commissioner Rajasekhar participated in the meeting.
