AIDWA wages war on illegal liquor shops

Kakinada: The AIDWA (All India Democratic Women’s Association) leaders and activists staged a dharna in front of the Collectorate, seeking closure of a liquor shop at Z-Bridge on Samalkot road here on Monday.
The AIDWA leaders raised slogans against the government and said that liquor flowed like streams in the state. They demanded immediate closure of the unauthorized liquor shop at Z-Bridge in Indrapalem on the Samalkot road and all the unauthorized liquor shops in the city. They further described this protest as ‘Madyam pai Uddham’. They also wanted the government to withdraw the latest excise policy.
The agitators said that because of the unauthorized shop at the Z- Bridge, the drunkards eve-tease women trespassers. They threatened that if the concerned officials fail to act immediately, they would intensify their protest against the policy of not closing the unauthorized liquor shops in the city.
